Research
Research focuses on nanoscience
and nanotechnology with specific emphasis on three inter-related areas: 1.
syntheses of semiconductor nanowires and nanowire axial, radial and grafted
heterostructures, and organic semiconductor nanostructures (conducting polymer
nanowires); 2. studies of the fundamental optical and electronic properties of
these new classes of materials; 3. investigation of hierarchical
assembly/fabrication of nanoscale functional device elements for nanoelectronics,
nanophotonics and nanomedicines.
