Our research involves (1) the rational synthesis of new nanomaterials (such as semiconductor nanowires and nanowire heterostructures, conducting polymer nanostructures etc.); (2) the investigation of fundamental electronic, optical and optoelectronic properties of nanostructures; (3) the development of functional nanoelectronic and nanophotonic systems for communications, sensing, information storage, solar cells, biological detection and medicine. We also have great interests in research on spintronics and on interfacing of electronics with neural science.
